During the 7th and 8th of January 2020, the sustainable Industry Challenge, took place in the Chemport of Groningen aiming at connecting industries with sustainable innovations. The Chemport Europe is an ecosystem in Northern Netherlands in which companies committed to the development of a flourishing green chemical sector. These companies, together with knowledge institutions and government are in the process of transforming of the chemical industry. Green chemistry and circular projects get off the ground and with this we are reshaping the economy. Cooperation between parties is key. It works well because we share the ambition to create a sustainable chemical production chains and close loops. By 2050, only renewable energy and raw materials will be used.
Ingelia participated in the green chemistry challenge selected by ESD, during the two days, a lot of work was performed on the substitution of coke by using hydrochar as raw material for the chemical industry. A significant further step achieved by Ingelia in the upgrading of HTC products for the sustainable industry.
