EnglishThe Valencian company Ingelia, worldwide leader in the industrial development of HTC technology that allows the recovery of organic waste materials, has closed the investment agreements for the construction of its first plant in Belgium. The HTC plant of Ingelia is incorporated into the waste treatment process of the Belgian company Renasci, which has invested 55 million euros in its first plant in the Belgian town Oostende by combining different technologies in a process called Smart Chain Processing.
Renasci also has seven other projects in its portfolio where Ingelia’s technology will be part of the process for transforming the organic fraction of waste into bioproducts. The industrial plants of Ingelia, allow to recover two of the products that the European Union has included in the list of critical raw materials, biocarbon and phosphorus, which once recovered from our waste are reintroduced into production cycles replacing materials from fossil origin, thus contributing to the circular economy and the protection of the environment.
The Belgium plant is under construction and will have four HTC modules. In addition, it will incorporate other technologies of separation of plastics for the production of biodiesel. The commissioning of the plant is planned in December 2019.
Ingelia thus consolidates its entry into the Belgian market with the construction of a first plant, whose construction is already tendered by the government of Flanders. The project was presented last June at the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Belgium where it had an excellent reception by businessmen and investors in the area, within the framework of the “Spain Means Innovation” program.
