New R&D project “GO-Champlast”

Ingelia participates in the project “Grupo Operativo Champlast” (GO-Champlast). The aim of the project is to investigate the creation of a new value chain in the production of mushrooms through the circular economy.

The CHAMPLAST Operational Group is represented by the Professional Association of Substrate and Mushroom Producers of La Rioja, Navarra and Aragón (ASOCHAMP), through the Mushroom Research Technology Center of La Rioja (CTICH), and has the participation of AIMPLAS as technical coordinator, as well as the companies Ingelia S.L. and Agricultores de la Vega de Valencia (SAV). The group was created with the aim of promoting the circular economy in the sector of cultivated mushrooms for the creation of new value chains.

The main objectives of the Operating Group are the development of a specific biodegradable film for use in mushroom cultivation and the valorization of the mushroom post-cultivation substrate using hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) technology for the manufacture of fertilizers.

The project, which has been financed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fish and Food in the call for innovation projects of general interest by operational groups of the European Association for Innovation in terms of agricultural productivity and sustainability, has a budget of 612,987.81€ and the completion date is March 2025.
